Armadale Society of Artists

David Batey was born 1946 in Newcastle, England where, during his teen years at a Catholic Boy's School, he was offered a scholarship to study art in London.
Due to family commitments however, he was unable to follow this up, and in 1967 migrated to Australia.

Before long, David's avid love of painting led to his first solo exhibition opened by Sheila McHale, a local Member of Parliament, and over the years, with growing popularity for his work, he now accepts commissions, exhibits and sells work throughout Western Australia, and is always happy to give free instruction to other budding artists who arrive at his studio.
