Armadale Society of Artists

Mary is married to Stuart and has a daughter and a son, also 5 step children - all grown up.

Mary has always enjoyed colour and shapes especially in nature, but it wasn't until New Year's eve 2000 when her son asked her what her goals were for the new year, that she began seriously thinking about her longing to draw and paint, which had lain dormant all her life. He started her off with 3 pastel sticks and a pad of paper!

She loves using pastels, watercolours, oils, charcoal and pencils. One day she hopes to branch out into other mediums as well.

Mary says -

'I enjoy belonging to the Armadale Society of Artists. Other members give me encouragement, and the demonstrations are inspiring. The art books available through the local libraries also give me inspiration.'
