Roy Harris - born in UK 1938 emmigrated to Australia in 1967. Always had a vague interest in art but nothing all consuming. Developed an idea that one of the things I do when I retired would be to learn to draw. At age 60 I enrolled with artist Trish Austin and undertook 2 years of drawing tuition. Subsequently learned to paint, largely self taught through books and DVD's but also undertook watercolour courses with Lucy Papilia and Des Smith.
Became a founder member of the Ellenbrook Art Group then later joined The Lilac Hill Art Group where I gained valuable knowledge in the use of acrylics from artist Harry Barden.
I have sold both acrylics and watercolours through commissions and shows. Tending now to specialise in pen and watercolour, inspired by the works of Ron Revitt famous for his Austrailiana paintings and by that brilliant watercolourist Tony Smibert.
